What an experience this wedding at Tensing Pen Resort in Jamaica was! So this was my first time to Jamaica and I was really excited to go. My mother had lived there in the 50’s and raised my two older brothers there for several years. She’s always referred to it as one of her favorite places.
Upon my arrival in Montego Bay, I took a 70’s minivan makeshift taxi to my resort which was supposed to be a 1 1/2 hour drive with no traffic to Negril from Montego Bay. I am a fast driver by nature and speed has never bothered me until I was in the front seat with my driver D’mon. D’mon told me it would take 1 1/2 hours like everyone else. “No Problem mon…Respect”. Well just 45 minutes later AFTER we stopped on the side of the road for fresh coconut juice he sliced open with a machette and Jamaica Red Bananas, we pulled up to the resort.
I ended up recording a small video clip of my ride so in case I died, so my family would know exactly how. Then I recorded my driver asking a fellow Jamaican directions to my resort which he couldn’t find. Tell me if you understand what he is asking. I was cracking up!
As far as the wedding goes, it was just an overall awesome experience for us. Rebekah and Darryl were amazing hosts and they chose a killer laid back resort called Tensing Pen to get married at. The resort was rustic and beautiful on the rocks overlooking the ocean in Negril. With lots of swimholes to explore and a gigantic lounge raft that they brought with them from Miami.
Sawyer was busy making friends with the rasta gardeners and trying Jerk Chicken. I’ll be posting some personal pics from the wedding soon.
Here a a slideshow from the wedding and I think you’ll feel like you were right there with everyone..
Enjoy…
